In-Camera Noise Reduction
Reducing Noise at the Source Often Leads to Superior Results
By Tim Grey
Noise in a digital photo is exhibited as random variations in tonal or color value at the pixel level, and it can be very distracting when it is clearly visible. Because noise can significantly degrade the perceived quality of an image, it is generally best to avoid noise at the time of capture to minimize the need to apply aggressive noise reduction later in your workflow. In-camera noise reduction can provide an excellent option for minimizing noise in your digital photos.
